Permanent laser hair reduction is achieved by using heat to disable the hair follicle and prevent re-growth over time, by targeting the melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle. Therefore, laser hair reduction ONLY works on brown or black hair.

Laser hair reduction does NOT work on white, gray, or red hair, but electrolysis does! 😉

The frequency and number of treatments depend on several factors that go hand-in-hand such as area(s) being treated, how fast your hair grows, underlying conditions, etc.

It’s important to understand that we CANNOT put a time stamp on when each individual’s laser treatment will be complete, which is why following the schedule recommended by your practitioner is so important.

It is recommended that laser hair removal sessions be every 4 to 12 weeks, per the practitioner’s recommendations.

Everyone is different and consistency is key!

It’s important to note that we could remove all of your hairs in one area and a few days later, you could see more emerge. This is NOT the same hair(s) that was removed a few days prior, during treatment,

If laser is performed correctly, the amount of regrowth should slow and return finer than before- as time and treatments progress forward.

  • Discontinue waxing, tweezing, threading completely. Trimming/
shaving the hair down to the skin level is REQUIRED for laser hair
reduction. If you are unable to do so yourself, have someone assist you if possible.
  • Drinking lots of water and keeping the skin moisturized is crucial,
for dry skin tends to be more sensitive with laser treatment.
  • Refrain from applying any products to the area(s) to be treated the
    day of the appointment.
  • Absolutely NO tanning before, after, or in between laser treatments. Tanned skin absorbs excess energy that should be going to the hair follicle(s). This can also result in pigmentation problems.

  • Avoid strenuous activities that can cause excess perspiration, for 12- 24 hours. No exercising, no saunas, no swimming, no direct sun exposure. Stay out of the sun but if outside, keep the treatment area covered & ALWAYS wear SPF 30+.
  • Apply a wet, cold compress to treated areas, several times a day if
redness or Irritation is bothersome. This is optional.
